“WATCH D.O.G.S.” Fatherhood program launches at Douglass Park Elementary

Calling all Dads and Father-Figures!

WATCH D.O.G.S. program

Earlier this month, Douglass Park Elementary launched the WATCH D.O.G.S. (Dads of Great Students) program. About 140 fathers showed up to volunteer in this national father-involvement initiative at the school.

In WATCH D.O.G.S., participants agree to volunteer at least one day in the school as teacher helpers, crossing guards, hallway monitors, library assistants, lunchroom helpers, tutors, and more.

We believe positive male role models can contribute to a child’s developmental and educational success. Also, the U.S. Department of Education has identified the WATCH D.O.G.S. program as a method to increase male involvement in schools.
